Rebekah (r) and Hannah (l) |
Our time in the states is flying by. After a 4 year term in Ukraine this time, we are enjoying connecting with all of the wonderful partners who have come and helped us in reaching Ukrainians for Christ. Our time in the states is flying by. Many of you have signed up to receive these prayer Emails when we spoke in your church. We apologize for not getting one out sooner. So far, we have spoken 34 times since the first of January.
God, as always, has been good to provide. When we are home to wash clothes and recoup, He has provided a missionary residence through Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. Some dear folks have provided vehicles for us to drive while we are here temporarily, meeting a great need. The best part of all, of course, has been being able to see our girls, Rebekah and Hannah. Just had to put in a photo of them here. Bekah is working as a graphic designer at the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board. Hannah is a first year medical student at LSU Med School in New Orleans. Yep, we are proud parents.
Please pray for us that:
God will give wisdom to use the remaining time in the states wisely, to encourage Southern Baptist churches to be on mission with Him to reach the world.
That we will learn and do the things that will help us to be the most productive while here and for the work when we are back in Ukraine.
For continued safe travel, God has been gracious.
Praying for a new church start!

Winter Prayer Walking - Sasha and Mike |
In early 2010 we began to prayer walk in a part of our city called "Krasni Kamen" (Red Rock). This part of the city has about 100K people and only a couple of small evangelical churches we know of, and no Baptist church. There are many who walk in darkness in this part of our city, so we, along with my friend, Alexander (Sasha), began prayer walking in this district. The first wave of church planting work often is, and always should be, prayer walking. In the summer of 2011 we had our first projects with volunteers working in this part of the city, having several VBS type projects, a outdoor sports court renovation, and basketball camps. This year, as God allows, we are planning to have soccer camps there as well as some VBS work. In addition, we hope to have an English project in one of the schools there in the fall, and possibly a medical clinic.
Right now, Sasha is meeting with two small groups there, and this past week a young woman, "K", gave her heart to Christ. Another young man named "Y" is also getting very close and asking many questions.
We pray that these groups will be the basis for a new church in Red Rock. There is MUCH work left to do, and our "enemy" will certainly try to ruin the Kingdom work that has been done there so far. We humbly ask for your prayers for the following:

Prayer requests:
- That God will continue to work in "K's" life and put into her heart to want to follow Him closely.
That He will also continue to work in "Y's" life, to convict of sin and of his need for Jesus.
That the Father will strengthen and encourage Sasha, and us, as we seek His heart and direction in working in Red Rock.
That He will make a way for the group projects we are planning in this area this summer, and bring to us people in whom He is already working.
