Canaan BC Magdalinovka 2008

During the first days of May, we saw the Lord bring many people to medical clinics that were provided in Magdalinovka, Polivanovka and Zaplavka.  The volunteer group from Canaan Baptist Church in Bessemer, AL, came and worked together with our Ukrainian partners here to provide medical assistance to the people in these three communities which are about an hour north of the city of Dnipropetrovsk.  The photos here are from this project.  Each day we saw God break down some barriers between people who are not coming to any church which are trying to reach people in these communities.  Magdalinovka is a country seat town where we have been working for some time to help a church get going.  The Ukrainian brother who has worked there the most told us that the two days of the clinic had helped to break the ice with more people than anything else we have done in the community up to this point.  People began to open up, were given help, and some home visits were even made to extend medical care.  In the fours days of the clinics we received 233 for reading glasses and over 250 to the doctors, seeing over 260 people total.  All were given literature, most received bibles, and many heard the gospel and saw it in action.  We praise God for His works and for the partnership with the folks from AL. Please pray for those who came to the clinics and for those believers who will be coming into contact with them, and for Volodia and Fyodor, the two men who are  working to start a church planter in Magdalinovka.
